Smartphone Store will begin shipping OtterBox Defender and Commuter for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in late January.

As you may know, the new Galaxy Nexus has been highly anticipated as it's the first smartphone in the world to run Google's new Android 4.0 operating system nicknamed Ice Cream Sandwich.

From what we have seen, expect an amazing operating system experience, not to mention an HD Super LCD Screen and tricky camera

You can even unlock the new smartphone by face recognition.

The method of sharing information is supposed to be all new, using Google Beam which we are yet to test.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 Next-G™

We can confirm its definitely coming to Australia and we expect first stock of the 850MHz version to land with us in Feb-March 2012

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 Next G 850MHz will run channels 1, 2, 5 & 6 unlike the 3G 900MHz version.

What does this mean to the consumer?

Well if you are a Telstra customer, this new BlackBerry Bold 9790 will run at the optimised speed on the Next-G™ network giving you faster access to data, downloads and of course, best regional coverage.

Don't expect a sky high price tag either, this new BlackBerry Bold 9790 will sell at the same time as the current BlackBerry Bold 9900, but runs a lesser spec. In some regards and won't be perched up there with the bigger Bold 9900 but I have a personal feeling many will prefer the form factor as it will be slightly similar, like the outgoing Bold 9780, it fits so nicely into the hand.

I've been reviewing the Case Mate Tough Case for the iPhone 4S and BlackBerry Bold 9900.

It seems its closest competitor is the OtterBox Commuter, and we have long been fans of OtterBox.

In terms of protection, they both seem on par and it looks like they would both do a good job in a drop or bump scenario.

 

What we like about the Case Mate Tough Case is that because of its silicon based rubber exterior its very easy to grip. This usually isn't what you want if you are putting the case in your pocket but if you are leaving on a desk or in the car, its really good because it doesn't move around.

If your looking for Case Mate Tough Case and also something you are going to carry around in your pocket, opt for the the OtterBox Commuter Case.

They are similarly priced, both high quality and serve different similar yet different purposes.

The OtterBox Defender is our favourite heavy duty case.

The OtterBox Defender for iPhone 4S in Black and OtterBox Defender for BlackBerry Bold are our highest selling rugged heavy duty cases.

We have tested a great deal and for protection and value, we haven't seen anything better.

The belt holster that comes in the package, is strong and sturdy.

The main buttons are also each to use, we tested using them with gloves on and it worked perfectly.

The OtterBox Defender for the iPad 2 and BlackBerry PlayBook are also superb.

The iPad 2 Defender is around $85-$95 in most places so whilst it isn't cheap, it will save your iPad 2 over and over again.

Like OtterBox Defender for the BlackBerry PlayBook, the convertible stand is strong and doesn't slide when you press on screen as many convertible case stands do.

High quality product, excellence in design and engineering.

BlackBerry Bold 9790

It's coming early in the new year but it's not what we first thought.

It almost seems somewhat downgraded for the usual Bold flagships and the Bold 9900 is still going to be at the top of the tree.

So, it's basically like the Bold 9780, but also with touch screen. It won't have the high end screen we see on the Bold 9900 or the super fast processor.

We are expecting a very attractive price tag for this lower spec, maybe $499? (Let's hope so)

It looks great from the pictures so we are keen to test it.
